Commanders Corner

I would like to thank Richards' Restaurant for their gracious donation of the Ansal System for our Kitchen. I would also like to thank all of the volunteers that have helped make this happen. Just a friendly reminder that our elections are coming up next month and we still have some offices that need to be filled. Please attend your monthly meetings there are a lot of items that can not be voted on if there is no quorum.

Thank you,

Don Wieging
Commander

The Sons of Post 7 support the legion in a variety of activities. We would also like to see more of our SAL members stepping forward to help us with running of the SAL making it a membership run Unit. The training is free, the fun is great, and it pays great rewards knowing that your are doing something great for our veterans. Please attend our meetings and support our post fund-raisers.

Thank you

 ALR Directors Corner

I am very proud to be the Legion Riders of Post 7, Director.

I would like to say welcome to all new members; you have made a good decision to join our Legion Riders here at Post 7.  The salute is one of the military's most honored traditions and should not be treated lightly or with irreverence. It is one of the most recognized signs of showing respect and reflects the military's colored traditions and history.  A slow salute is 3 seconds up, hold for 3 seconds and 3 seconds down.

Thank you,

Joey Dog Jackson

Director

Priority Group 8 Enrollment Relaxation Changes
VA eligibility rules changed on June 15, 2009, making it easier for more Veterans to enroll in VA’s health care system. Under this new regulation, VA relaxed income restrictions on enrollment for health benefits. While this new provision does not remove consideration of income, it does increase income thresholds. A web–based calculator is available for Veterans to enter their income information, dependents, and zip code to assess if their income would fall within the proposed income threshold adjustments. Veterans are encouraged to contact VA’s Health Resource Center at 1–877–222 VETS (8387) or visit the VA health eligibility website for more information.
